A One-of-a-Kind Piece: “Lib Original Kaga Yuzen Costume”

We offer costumes created in collaboration between

Lid Dress and Kaga Yuzen artist Shinobu Ichikawa.

 

Kaga Yuzen is a “traditional craft” of Ishikawa Prefecture that has been passed down since the mid-Edo period,

representing the pinnacle of hand-painted Yuzen traditional culture.

 

This traditional technique involves creating designs from scratch, drawing preliminary sketches,

and applying dye while preventing the pattern from taking hold with paste.

— We created this piece by pursuing advanced techniques, patience, and, above all,

a shared dedication to beauty in every step of the process.

The “White Crane” motif is intricately rendered with masterful craftsmanship,

embodying the dignified presence of Japanese tradition.

It is a special garment imbued with the “tradition”

that will be passed down to future generations and the passion of the “Kaga artisans.”
